Window Concept for TCA Ltd

I was commissioned by TCA Ltd to create a window concept for the opening of Starting Point in Airdrie. Starting Point was relocating and TCA wished to mark the opening of the store with a window treatment that would attract the attention of passersby and encourage them to find out more about the store.

Starting Point was a small business incubator which supported local small businesses into retail by providing them with a High Street location from which to trade for 6 months with accompanied support and training. With this in mind, I decided to use the popular phrase ‘mighty oaks from little acorns grow’ as it perfectly encapsulated the ethos of the project and provided a strong basis for visual elements.

The quote ran the full length of the store front (3 large windows and door) and I decided to use white as the primary colour on the windows with the only additional colour accents being pink, blue and green taken from the Starting Point logo.

A woodland was created with woodland creatures (owl, squirrel, snail, hedgehog, bird) included at various points along the design to add interest and the colour accents. I personally drew the design on to the windows and worked with TCA throughout both the concept and execution of the design to ensure it remained neither too corporate or ‘twee’ in feel.

TESTIMONIAL:

Having worked with Caishnah we were delighted with the work carried out. Caishnah developed a design concept which helped us convey the mission of the project.  We feel the design met our brief and the quality of the work was of a high standard.  Caishnah is very approachable and reliable. I would have no hesitation in working with Caishnah again.
